Jon Mahoney Named Executive Director of BIBA

Boston (October 22, 2012) – The Boston Irish Business Association (BIBA), a non-profit business organization, announced today that Jon Mahoney, Founder of the Mahoney Group, has been named executive director. As executive director, Mahoney will focus on furthering the BIBA mission through membership recruitment, sponsorship and partner involvement, feedback and engagement, and programming. 

"Jon's commitment and dedication to BIBA has been unparalleled," said AJ Gerritson, President of BIBA. "He has been essential to the growth and success of the organization for many years and I am looking forward to his continued leadership and devotion to the Irish business community." 

BIBA's mission is to help its members create and foster meaningful business relationships while offering a dynamic platform for companies looking to gain brand exposure for their products and services both locally and in Ireland. Mahoney attended his first BIBA meeting in 1998 and has since been active in the organization. Mahoney served on the Board of Directors from 2005-2009, co-chaired the 2006 and 2007 Trade Missions to Ireland, and led a delegation of 25 BIBA members to its first Trade Mission to New York earlier this month. 

Mahoney is the founder of the Mahoney Group, a unique Venture Catalyst firm specializing in initiating the executive selling process. Mahoney is also a Connector with Boston World Partnerships, a member of Irish Networking Boston, and is an active volunteer for organizations including The Claddagh Fund, Cystic Fibrosis, and Special Olympics of Massachusetts. A Boston native, Mahoney is a graduate of St. Michael's College and holds dual citizenship with the USA and Republic of Ireland.

BIBA Welcomes Paul Breen of Enterprise Ireland to the Board!

Paul Breen, a Marketing Executive for Enterprise Ireland in Boston, has recently joined the BIBA family. Enterprise Ireland, an Irish government organization, is responsible for the start-up and healthy growth of Irish enterprises. They provide support for economic advancement, localized development, and secure employment. The company branches out worldwide, and has brought Paul right here to Boston.

With a BSC in Business Management, he has traveled quickly down the professional path. He studied at both Dublin Institute of Technology and as an Erasmus student at the prestigious Ecole Superieure de Commerce de Toulouse in France. Paul began his journey as a sales consultant at 3G Mobile. In the summer of 2012, he participated in the Corporate Development Program at J.P. Morgan, interning as an operations and business services analyst. He joined Enterprise Ireland in September of 2011.
